"Rock star"

They probably won't convert any pop music fans, but if you know what prog-rock is, these guys from Italy are it. The first impression one probably gets is that ProgressiveXperience's debut here is a very polished product. The fat bass, tight snare, and well-mixed production definitely catch the ear. Some might say it's a little over-orchestrated, but that's definitely part of their package. ProgX have a vocalist with an earnest and expansive sound, like a baritone Jon Anderson from Yes's later days. These guys call themselves prog-rockers, and they are not kidding; it's like stepping out of a time warp. They may get a little pigeon-holed with the distorted opening guitar on "Remainder of Myself," with the taste being more Bitchin' Camaro than modern rock. But then again, they're not calling themselves adult alternative or singer-songwriter. There's nothing wrong with a little throwback every once in a while, and these guys do it well. So put those rock-out signs in the air and get out your Rush t-shirt. ProgressiveXperience is here to bring it all back for you.
